Adult Inquirers Class:

Next Steps: I will with God's Help

Calling All Adults for Baptism, Confirmation, Reception, or Renewal of Baptismal Vows

Steps Canada.jpg

Are you an adult, but have never been baptized? Want to know more about the Christian faith and why you should be baptized?

Have you been confirmed in another apostolic tradition--this means that a bishop has laid hands on you for the rite of Confirmation? (i.e. Roman Catholic) But now you want to be--officially--an Episcopalian? You would be received at this service.  Were you raised in a Protestant tradition where you were baptized, but never confirmed? Then you would be confirmed at this service.

Perhaps you have already been both baptized and confirmed. But you are returning to the faith, or you still have lots of questions to explore, or you're in a totally new place now than you were at your confirmation age. If so, we will be offering a "Next Steps: I Will With God’s Help" program for five weeks after Easter, at 9:00 a.m., between worship services.

Sunday, April 8 - Sunday, May 13

From Sunday, April 8 - Sunday, May 13, we will think together about how we can live out our Christian faith—whether we are taking our first steps, or in a different place in our spiritual journey than we used to. We will celebrate at a special Dinner on Friday evening, May 11, along with the younger Confirmands and their Mentors. Confirmation (and Reception and Renewal of Baptismal Vows) will be held at the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m.

Robert or I will lead the group. Our first meeting will be in the Wyatt Hall Conference Room. Then the group can decide if future gatherings will take place in the Little Chapel, as Robert's book study did during Lent.  We will use the book I Will With God's Help (adult/youth edition) as a guide.

If you want to go ahead and order this book, you can go to www.smile.amazon.com to order your copy.  However, if you need me to order the book, I'm happy to do that.  Just indicate that on the sign-up sheet.

You will find a Sign-Up Sheet in Wyatt Hall this morning, Easter Sunday. Please sign up, so we'll know how many of you are interested.
